Sun and Snow Adventure Holidays

Metro Snow KidsCaring Cancer Trust was delighted to partner with VOS Media Ltd last October at their annual Ski & Snowboard Show, London Olympia to create the exciting Metrosnow Kids Project for kids recovering from cancer.

We took to the ski slopes in April 2010 with a group of young kids recovering from leukaemia, bone cancer and related illnesses for an exciting Alpine Snow Adventure holiday at La Plagne in the French Alps where they had the time of their life at the magnificent Chalet Maxine  donated by our partners Snowfox Holdays and learnt to ski.

Following the outstanding success of this, our first Alpine Snow Adventure Holiday

(click to see the superb fun film made by Angus, our volunteer Carer and ski consultant who accompanied the group), we are expanding the project for 2011 to give more kids the holiday of their young lifetime, helping to restore their self confidence and joyful life after such a traumatic and tough period in their early life.

We are also planning to add a series of Summer Adventure holidays to our snow programme for Kids recovering from Cancer. We launch this in January at VOS Media's Outdoors Show, ExCel, London. Among projects we are looking at with various partners are Surfing in Cornwall, Mountain Biking in the Scottish Highlands, Sailing in the Shetland Isles and Dinghy Sailing in Devon.

You can join us as a valued private member of our Cancer Kids Support Team or become a corporate or Schools Sponsor by donating online by secure direct debit at: Justgiving or contacting the Appeals Secretary at info@caringcancertrust.com. We are happy to visit potential Corporate or Schools Sponsors to discuss our plans.

  2011 Adventure Holiday  Plans

Plans for our 2011 Alpine Snow Adventure Holday for kids recovering from cancer are already well under way. To date, (3 August, 2010), we shall be taking kids refered to us by  three hospitals, (up from one last winter), and we are most grateful for the support given in this by the charity CLIC Sargent.  We shall again be visiting La Plagne, the French Alpine resort which gave such a welcome to our group in April.  Snowfox Holidays Ltd, which hosted our group in April at their magnificent chalet, have acquired the very comfortable Hotel Les Rhododendrons next door and have invited the group to stay there as their guests.
