Healing Holidays - Alpine Adventure for Snowkids

Metro Snow KidsIn 2009 Caring Cancer Trust created the exciting Alpine Snowkids Project for kids recovering from cancer. We were delighted to partner with VOS Media Ltd, launching the project  at their annual Ski & Snowboard Show, London Olympia, and in April 2010 we departed for our first trip.

We set off with a group of 10 young kids recovering from leukaemia, bone cancer and related illnesses for an Alpine Snow Adventure holiday at La Plagne in the French Alps. There the children had the time of their life at the magnificent Chalet Maxine donated by our partners Snowfox Holdays and learnt to ski thanks to the outstanding tuition donated by the leading ski school in La Plagne, Oxygene Ski and Snowboard School.

Alpine Snowkids - the 2011 Healing Holiday

Following the outstanding success of this, our first Alpine Snow Adventure Holiday we expanded the project in 2011 to give more kids who have suffered from cancer the holiday of their young lifetime, helping to restore their self-confidence and passion for life after such a traumatic and tough period in their early life. Not only this but we were also delighted to embrace Graham Bell,  Jenny Jones and Vos Media's Managing Director Damian Norman as three new patrons of the Charity and its Alpine healing holidays project.

We again visited La Plagne, the French Alpine resort which gave such a welcome to our group in 2010.  Snowfox Holidays Ltd, which hosted our group at their magnificent chalet, have now acquired the very comfortable Hotel Les Rhododendrons next door and  invited the group to stay there as their guests.

Thanks to the dedicated support of our sponsors we are now able to open an Alpine Summer healing holiday programme  for children with cancer, where they can re-ignite their passion for life in the spectacular mountain scenery and healthy environment. We launched this in January at Vos Media's Outdoors Show, London ExCel, and look forward to taking a group of children to the Alps in August.

Vos Alpine Snowkids and Summerkids healing holidays for Children with Cancer are managed and run entirely by volunteers.
